The project is led by Dr. Cortni Borgerson, Montclair State University, New Jersey, USA.
The project supports the consumption of lanternflies (we are currently waiting for verification) in north Madagascar. Locally known as sakondry, they are collected in nature and in home gardens. The sakondry are one of the most popular edible insects. The biological characteristics are favorable to take steps toward the semi-cultivation of sakondry. A website for the project is under development.
